We are asking for your support.

Please consider attending the City of Yakima Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 20th at 5PM and providing support regarding the Yakima Police Department’s Flock License Plate Reader (LPR) system .

This technology has proven to be a critical investigative tool and has directly assisted in solving serious crimes, including homicides, sexual offenses against children, domestic violence aggravated assaults, vehicle thefts, burglaries, and other violent crimes.

These are real cases involving real victims, and this system has helped bring accountability and resolution.

If you or someone you know was the victim of a crime where this technology played a role in solving the case, we strongly encourage you to attend and share your experience during public comment. Hearing directly from community members makes a meaningful impact.

At a time when the department is facing staffing shortages and the loss of police positions, tools like this help officers work more efficiently to continue protecting our community.

Your voice matters. Your support matters. We appreciate the community’s continued involvement, feedback, and partnership in keeping Yakima safe.
